With microphone in hand, Royale is charming, professional, and passionate in her vivification of this ode to music and/or love. In the song’s second half, spirit enters Griffin’s performance, and Royale, matching Griffin’s ecstatic scat syllable for syllable, throws herself to the ground, jumps to her feet, and is even briefly distracted from her prop in the exultation of channelling.
