A revenge fantasy. A disturbed daydream. A vain attempt to cope with images of horror. In ölmondnacht (OilMoonNight), found footage is moulded into a new narrative structure and a new perception of materiality using various digital and analogue techniques of distressing and collaging. Created in an atmosphere brought on by Russia’s war of aggression, the central motifs of the film are the death and decay of landscape, which is mirrored in the methods of digital data corruption, analogue printing errors and paper-tearing techniques used to make it.
