Pro-Palestinian voices have been met with silence and censorship by the German cultural scene, and the numerous cancellations have left international colleagues in shock and dismay. Film festivals in particular have been in the spotlight since the discriminatory reaction by German politicians and media towards the filmmakers of No Other Land during and after the Berlinale.

How to Resist as an Artist? will address the agency of cultural workers’ resistance to the current political climate in Germany, as well as its limitations, while Israel’s military campaign, which has killed over 34.000 people and targeted the civil infrastructures of Gaza, continues. How do we respond to cancellations, scandalisation, and repression? How do we maintain spaces for contradiction and disagreement without excluding certain voices within institutional frameworks?

The panel will give space to the guest speakers and audience to share their thoughts, experiences and strategies.
